Message from the Chief
Dear Fellow Village
Residents,
First off I would like to
take this time to thank you
for your generous donations
from our annual booster
drive. I would also like to
remind you if you have not
yet sent your booster drive
back in please do so as soon
as possible, as they are
used as an informational
tool to the fire department
in the time of an emergency.
Thank you all for your
ongoing support to the fire
department. Without your
support it would be very
hard for us to receive the
tools of the trade that we
need to operate efficiently
and effectively to keep all
of the residents safe in the
time of an emergency.
Our roster is currently at
33 active fire fighters and
12 auxiliary members. We
currently have several
applications pending for the
fire department and are on
the verge of starting a
waiting list. Even though we
are almost at our maximum
capacity for fire fighters,
please keep in mind that we
are always accepting new
applications for both the
fire department and the
auxiliary. For more
information about how to
join or if you would like
more information about the
fire department please feel
free to contact me at the
fire station at our non
emergency number at
324-1033. Remember for
any emergency please dial
911.
Also everyone please keep in
mind that this has been a
very very dry spring and it
only takes one little spark
to start a brush fire. If
you are going to have a
controlled burn please use
all precautions to prevent
it from catching things on
fire that we do not want to
burn. Also remember to call
the burn in to 911 so that
they are aware and can
advise the fire department
of the burn. For additional
information on controlled
burns and the new DEC laws
about them please visit the
Department of Environmental
Conservation website.
And please remember in case
of an Emergency Please Dial
911
Respectfully Yours,
Michael A. Robbins
